About Double R Ranch

We are an ideal site for destination weddings, company retreats, family reunions, and glamping. The Double R Ranch is an in-holding in the San Juan National Forest. We are an eco-friendly resort using solar power and local materials for our log and rock structures. The ranch is located 15 miles outside of Mancos, Colorado. If you aren’t local the best airport to use is Durango’s La Plata airport.

Rentals

Spectacular Lodge in a unique setting. Located 10 miles INSIDE the San Juan National Forest as part of a pioneer “in-holding”, the Lodge sits at 9600 ft overlooking SW Colorado and 100 miles into Utah and New Mexico.

Hunting

These packages offer non-guided hunting with five-star accomodations and include exclusive hunting on our 400 acres of in-holdings located in the middle of the San Juan National Forest.

Reunions

Relax and leave everything to us. The Ranch can provide overnight accommodations for up to 30 people. Our buildings are ruggedly elegant and include a total of ten bedrooms and four lofts. We have two fully furnished Yurts for Glamping, and a Cookhouse with full commmerical kitchen. There is RV parking on our upper pasture.

About

The Double R Ranch is a pioneer “in-holding’ created when the West was settled through “160 acres and a mule”. Our closest neighbor is 10 miles away and we are surrounded by the 2 million acres of National Forest. You simply can’t get any closer to nature than here while still enjoying most of the comforts of civilization.

“This was a excellent setting with a good combination of accommodations. The Main Lodge is elegant. The Bunkhouse comfortable. The Cookhouse worked out well for our meals and the community tables helped everyone mix and mingle. Our younger members especially liked the ranch's loft beds. Our independent family members took to Glamping in the Yurts, while our vagabonds were able to park there RVs in the upper pasture. Nice place. ”

“We ran into a herd of elk driving up late on the first night. Luckily we had a light snow during our stay so it showed us the movements of the elk. The altitude can be challenging so it is best to exercise before you come. We found an elk antler shed and saw two bulls but couldn't get a clean shot. Five star accommodations. Truly spectacular views."
